Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, is an extremely popular surgical procedure with more than 110,000 women having had it done in the United States in 2011 alone. The most common reason women elect to have a tummy tuck is the changes to their abdomen from childbirth, mainly loose skin and stretch marks. Many women are uncomfortable with the changes in their bodies that occur after childbirth, with the most often affected areas being the breasts and abdomen, both of which can be corrected in very safe and common procedures performed routinely at my plastic surgery practice in New Hampshire.
Areola Reduction
Areola reduction, sometimes called nipple reduction, is a procedure which reduces the size of the areola, the nipple or both. It is performed as part of a breast reduction and breast lift routinely but can also be performed alone. Many times women will experience stretching of the areola, or colored portion of the breast, after childbirth and breast-feeding. If the only thing that bothers you about your breasts is enlarged areolas then this procedure is right for you.
Arm Lift
Brachioplasty, or arm lift surgery, entails removing excess skin and fat on the upper arm. I usually combine the skin excision with liposuction if there is any excess fat, particularly on the front, back or outer arm. Adding liposuction allows for additional skin removal resulting in the maximum amount of circumferential reduction. For patients with good skin tone and minimal drooping skin, liposuction alone can give an excellent result.
Body Lift
The term “body lift” in my practice means a circumferential, lower body lift which addresses the abdomen, buttocks and outer thighs. Other terms used to describe a similar procedure include donut lipectomy, belt lipectomy and torso lift. The torso lift is the most accurate of the alternate terms because the lift portion is an important component compared to the donut and belt lipectomies. The lower body lift in my practice not only removes a substantial amount of circumferential skin and fat, but also elevates the buttocks and thighs eliminating loose, sagging skin on the lower extremities. The result is a tightening of the torso and upper thighs from below the breast to the knees.

BOTOX®Cosmetic may be the one for you. You may feel that the moderate to severe glabellar lines between your brows make you look tired or unapproachable, or have other reasons.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is known by several other names, including augmentation mammaplasty, breast enlargement and breast implants. It is one of the most commonly performed procedures performed by plastic surgeons today, and involves the use of implants to improve the contour of your breasts. There are many reasons women undergo augmentation including loss of volume after pregnancy or weight loss, or simply to fulfill your desire for larger breasts, or provide balance to your physique.
Breast Lift
One of the more common breast procedures, a breast lift or mastopexy, is surgery that corrects the appearance of saggy, deflated breasts. There are many reasons that breasts can hang lower than you would like and these include genetics, pregnancy, breast feeding, weight loss or gain, and aging.
Breast Reduction
Also known as reduction mammaplasty, breast reduction surgery removes a combination of excess fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body and to alleviate the symptoms associated with overly large breasts. It is one of the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures and provides vast numbers of women relief from the problems associated with large breasts.
Buttock Lift
Buttock lift surgery, also known as gluteoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that lifts and tightens the buttocks region. A butt lift involves removing excess skin and tissue to make the patient’s buttocks appear younger and more aesthetically pleasing.
Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation, mentoplasty, or chin surgery, is a procedure that alters the contour of your chin. Many people have a chin that does not match the rest of their face, particularly from the profile view. Retrogenia is the formal term for a recessed or “set back” chin that does not project forward enough. Other names that can be used to describe different appearances of the chin are hypogenia and microgenia, meaning “small chin”.
Dysport Injections
Prescription Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.
Earlobe Surgery
Earlobe surgery is a relatively simple procedure that improves stretched or torn earlobes. Earlobe damage is common for women and men who’ve worn earrings. Over time, large or heavy earrings can deform the earlobe, as can trauma caused by jewelry accidentally being torn from the ear. Once the earlobe is repaired, a patient can continue wearing earrings in the future if she or he chooses.
Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a simple procedure that improves the aesthetics of the upper and lower eyelids to make patients appear more youthful and alert. During eyelid surgery, a number of procedures may be done: removal of fatty deposits, tightening of loose skin, lifting of lower eyelids, reducing of bags under eyes and removal of excess skin.
Facelift
Facelift surgery, also known as rhytidectomy, is a popular cosmetic surgical procedure that gives older men and women a more youthful appearance. During a facelift, excess skin is removed from the face while the skin is tightened. Facelift surgery reduces common signs of aging such as sagging skin, fatty deposits, deep creases and jowls.
Fat Grafting
Dr. Sterling performs fat grafting for the cheeks, lower eyelids, nasolabial creases, hands and scar reconstruction. Fat grafting involves harvesting fat from one part of the body, purifying it, and carefully re-injecting it into the areas requiring augmentation. The procedure may need to be repeated several times to achieve the desired result. Swelling is the most common side effect of fat grafting, which settles down within several weeks as well as bruising. Fat grafting can be an office based procedure.
Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia surgery involves reducing the size of abnormally sized male breasts. Done right, gynecomastia rarely returns. Reducing the size of the mammary gland can increase a man’s confidence considerably. Gynecomastia surgery empowers men to enjoy things that others take for granted, such as going to the beach shirtless and wearing slim-fitting clothing.
Inverted Nipples
Inverted nipple surgery corrects invaginated nipples, which are retracted into the breast. Inverted nipples can usually be brought outward with minimal invasive surgery.
Labia Reduction
Labia reduction, also known as labiaplasty or labioplasty, is a procedure that has become increasingly popular among women of all ages. It involves reducing the size of the labia minora which results in less projection and bulk of the inner “lips” of the vagina. You may have seen advertisements describing genital cosmetic surgery as “vaginal rejuvenation” or “designer vagina” or various other phrases. My approach is much more conservative for what most women consider a very private type of surgery.
Lip Augmentation
Lip augmentation is a simple cosmetic procedure that increases the volume and fullness of the lips. Patients recover from the procedure very quickly compared to other cosmetic surgeries; it usually takes about a week.
Liposuction
Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, lipo or liposculpture suction lipectomy, is a popular cosmetic procedure that removes hard-to-lose fat from the body. The surgery is often used to rid of fat in the abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, arms and chin. Liposuction is not a substitute for healthy living. Rather, it’s a way to shed fat in certain regions when dieting and exercise has been exhausted.

Nose jobs are popular among people who are dissatisfied with their appearances and those who have suffered facial trauma.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty surgery improves the appearance of the external ear, also known as the pinna. Otoplasty is often used to correct birth defects or trauma that results in damage to the ear. After an otoplasty procedure, a patient’s outer ears should appear proportionate to the face when viewed from the front, rear and side.
